For a wardrobe to be Montessori it is important that it fulfill two functions:

ONE that is at the child’s level and TWO that the child has easy access to the clothes they need for the everyday. The design can vary, today there are many options and all are valid as long as they fulfill those two functions.

As Montessori wardrobes are generally quite small, the idea is not to use them to store ALL the child’s clothes, but to leave the clothes they need for everyday use: underwear, pajamas, shoes, socks, etc.
